Violet Florence Patchett (nee Taylor)

March 3, 1922 - March 9, 2008

Vye (as she liked to be called) passed peacefully in Westbank BC. Vye was born in Merritt BC, spending her childhood with family and friends. Vye was highly thought of and respected by all who knew her, she was a very attractive woman with a lovely singing voice. Vye enjoyed the outdoors and loved her horse "Lady" and cats. When WWII broke out, Vye enlisted and proudly served her country. After the war, Vye moved to Mission, BC working in banking. Vye was a highly efficient businesswoman. She put these skills to good use and opened a successful business school in Vancouver with husband Dick Young, and continued the school for approximately 10 years, until Dick’s death. In 1971 Vye married Al Patchett. They had a dream to move to the Okanagan and in 1980 they built their "House on the Hill" in Winfield BC. Here they lived with cats Charley, Alfy, extra cat, and later Kizzy. Vye so loved her cats. Vye is predeceased by her first husband Dick Young, her second husband Al Patchett, her sister Elaine (Tonner) and brother Tom Carrington. Vye is survived by her sisters Mary (Timmerman) of Westbank, BC, Patricia (Schneider) of Grand Prairie AB and Fernne (Burnet) of Rimby, AB, step-sons Bob Patchett (Joann) of Victoria BC, Keith Patchett (Brenda) of Duncan BC and step grand-children Heather Boeckner (Nick) and Kevin Patchett.
